Twinkie

Waco, TX

Feeling cooler weather at last.  The smell of the wintery outdoors make me nostalgic.  I find myself remembering pieces of my high school years.  The memories I associate with October weather are of me living at home.  When I would go on long, quiet bike rides at dusk and come home to see what my parents were up to.  Time was plentiful and I used it to explore the great outdoors.  I visited friends.  I shuffled around my house.

My values have changed since then.  The way I spend my time has changed.  However,  I am learning to take cues from my former self.  Exploring,  sitting on my porch and staring, and going on bike rides have become some of my new activities.  Also, taking pictures of anything in front of me.

This is a cat Paige found on her street.  We named it Twinkie. Or Trixie...or Bellatrix?
Whatever you call her, she's pretty cute.  Some photo cred to Elisa for the picture of Paige and I :)

Luke Hicks

Waco, TX

This is Luke Hicks. A friend of mine connected me with him so we could get him some pictures to promote his music.  He's a cool, chill dude with a wonderfully dry sense of humor.   Check out his music here.

It is a nice change to shoot portraits of people I do not know very well.   With friends, you can give them any sort of gift or talent and they will be happy (lets face it, they are just nice people). (**Disclaimer: this doesn't mean you should give them just anything. )  Shooting new faces always seems like it is going to be a challenge, but then it ends up being awesome. Moral of the story...doing things you haven't done before is *almost* always refreshing.
