Spring Break: Awaken

Edinburg, Texas 

Sorry, this post is annoyingly long, but I wanted to put the photos all in one place.  Plus--there were so many great moments, I didn't know what to cut out.  

For the fourth year, I traveled down to Edinburg (on the southern tip of Texas) with my church for a mission trip.  Edinburg is a crazy little place with lots of palm trees and citrus fruits, and this trip would be completely different if we went anywhere else.  We sing, laugh, and sleep as we ride around the town in yellow school buses.  At parks, churches and malls, we interact with the people of the city and experience their kindness and hospitality and share about God.  

I love this trip. I get tired and loopy, and sometimes experience gluten poisoning, but I come back every year with expectation. Why? Because when I cut out distractions and focus on Him, I remember How great He is, and what He has called me to.  This year I was reminded that He loves us right now as we are--and isn't waiting for a future version of us to come along.  He calls us to love Him, love His people and share His truth, and in this we find true life and satisfaction.
